We celebrated our annual Open Day on Saturday 28th June 2014. We enjoyed a lovely sunny start to the day, but by lunchtime the heavens had opened, appropriately accompanied by “Leon” singing ‘Why does it always rain on me?’. Despite a few heavy showers, they didn’t last and it soon dried up again.
Visitors enjoyed our “Simpsons Fayre”, which included games such as Tin Can Alley, Can you beat the ladder?, Hoopla and Spin the Wheel. It was free to play and fun for all ages. Entertainment on the day also included local radio station, The Beach Radio with the Beach Bunny who was busy selling Škoda cars and test-driving our newest motorhome manufacturer ‘Rapido’. We also enjoyed music from local singer ‘Leon’ who was back this year due to popular demand and enjoyed magic tricks from our magician John Carmichael. In between the rain showers, we also enjoyed the mouth watering local Hundred River Farm Artisan ice cream including flavours such as Raspberry, Strawberry, Chocolate and Rum ‘n’ Raisin.
The Beach were once again running their competition to guess how many beach balls were in a Rapid Spaceback. The winner was Len & Penny Hill with a guess of 62 balls, winning themselves a BBQ, Patio table, Chairs and cutlery.
Congratulations to all the winners from our Prize Draw:
Mr Frost won a gas BBQ
Pauline Chamberlain won an Autoglym treatment for her car
Abi Pretlove won an Autoglym treatment for her car
Andy, Big John and Big Paul did an excellent job this year cooking on the BBQ, which was washed down with complimentary teas/coffees. The money raised of £140 from the BBQ/Fayre will be going to Willow’s Journey, who we are supporting throughout 2014. You can find out more about Willow by clicking here.
Thank you to all our customers and staff for once again helping to make our Open Day a success.
